Who we are

This website is run by Kahaila, a café, church and charity on Brick Lane, London. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean KAHAILA LTD, registered charity number 1138653, 135 Brick Lane, London E1 6SB.

What we collect

When you register for a course

When you fill in our course registration form, we collect:

  • your full name
  • your email address
  • your phone number (optional)
  • the course you are interested in, the number of people and your preferred dates
  • anything you choose to write in the message box

When you browse our website

With your consent, we use cookies to understand how people use our website and to measure our advertising. These tools are Google Analytics and Google Ads. They collect information such as the pages you visit, the device and browser you use and your approximate location. You can accept or decline these cookies in our cookie banner, and change your choice at any time.

Why we use your data

  • To reply to your course registration and arrange your place. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before you book a course with us.
  • To keep a record of course registrations. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running our courses well.
  • To measure and improve our website and advertising. Our lawful basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your course registration to send you marketing.

Who we share it with

We only share your data with service providers who help us run the website and reply to you:

  • Hostinger, which hosts our website, where course registrations are stored.
  • Google Workspace, which provides our email.
  • Google Analytics and Google Ads, only if you accept cookies.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, they use safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep course registrations for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, and then delete them. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings in Google Analytics.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your data
  • ask us to restrict or stop using your data
  • withdraw your consent to cookies at any time

To use any of these rights, email manager@kahaila.com. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
