Our Story

Welcome to Brick Lane

With a slice of red velvet, a good cup of coffee and a smile, we introduced ourselves to the Brick Lane community in the summer of 2012. Providing a space where anyone can take a break from the busyness of London, Kahaila is for anyone who wants to belong, regardless of who they are.

135 Brick Lane, London E1 6SB

Come and visit

Please check in store for the current list of sandwiches. We aim to have vegetarian and vegan options available at all times – come early to avoid disappointment.

Our range of cakes, pastries and sweet treats come to us via independent businesses and social enterprises across London. Did you know you can pick a whole cake too? Pop in or call to have a chat about your options.

We offer a wide selection of hot and cold drinks.

Hire out our space

There are several different ways in which people who hire out Kahaila use the building.  Kahaila Café on Brick Lane has been used by Tower Hamlets council for public consultation, as well as being used by different corporations or independent companies for filming.  The Cafe has also been used as a venue for private events, art exhibitions and music nights. There is a degree of flexibility with times and rental costs – with a reduced rate for registered charities. For more information email the Cafe Manager, Zoe.

The wall space in Kahaila café makes for great exhibition space.  We offer one-month exhibition opportunities to artists or photographers for free in return for 20% of any sales going directly to support Kahaila’s charitable projects.
